[ the rain is cleansing, first of all. dick is at zero brain cells. he is literally so tired. ]
... That's not a solution, Lili.
[ i mean. he gets it, mood, but. ]

[Akira is wearing a bunny onesie]
[in the rain]
[you're welcome]
. . . I like 45. . .
[:( despite last week's paranoia]

Now that the information is out there, we can't take it back. If someone was on the fence about whether they wanted to play along... well, they might not be anymore. We should get ready for that.

[he's wearing a poncho over the onesie too because I TOTALLY DIDN'T FORGET WE HAVE PONCHOS. IT'S FINE]
[despite Lili's teasing jab, Akira's expression turns serious]
Someone is going to die this week.
That's all there is to it.
[he says that quietly, but. . . he's not mincing words]

[ he spares a look at akira, since he's not sure there, but; ]
That was the plan so far. Why?
That was the plan so far. Why?
We shouldn't.
[he shoots Dick a sideways glance as well]
We should spend the night somewhere else to solidify alibis for the next day.
Is that what you were going to suggest, Lili?

[ first, to akira; ]
It won't work as easily to prove anything as last week, now that people know they need to keep an eye out for potential curfew effects, and even then, people had their doubts.
[ ... but ]
We never had an option to stop the demons back on the ship. Not during Thursdays, anyway. But other places did. It might be worth looking into.

[oh. Akira's reply is two-fold, actually]
Maybe. It might not be a perfect solution, but-- think of it this way.
Back at the mansion, there was a group of people who slept in the same place one Thursday night: the wardrobe closet. When they woke up the next morning, each person wrote down whatever effect they had on a slip of paper and shared it with the group at the same time. That way, nobody could make something up.
[he nods!!]
. . . some people still had their doubts, but if it helps, nobody from that group committed murder that week. So it's something to bear in mind.

As for stopping the murders--
[boy. he visibly hesitates here, because he's remembering Luna, evident by the way his hand drifts towards the bluebird pendant around his neck]
Back in the mansion, there was one person who could stop the murders every week. They were called "the Doctor." [a bit wry] My girlfriend-- Luna-- she had that role.
. . . she could protect two people a week: one who was targeted by a monster, and one who was targeted by a person. If she guessed correctly, she would take the place of the chosen victim and could fight back.
[. . .]
There was, of course, no guarantee that she'd survive, though.

[ this is why akira is a good boy. anyway ]
From what I've heard, there were roles in all the others, too. Except maybe the island. [ those two weeks bastard. ] If there are any here as well, I think it's safe to say they can't freely talk about it. There is one role I've heard of I'm worried about-- in a previous game, someone's role was to enforce people to commit their kill when they were chosen, or to kill them if they failed to perform their task.

[unsurprisingly, Akira's gaze narrows when Dick says that. you ever think about how it's funny that he's having this serious conversation while wearing a bunny onesie]
What game was that?
What game was that?
That's because I doubt they've told anyone else. [ he leans forward, placing his elbows on his knees. this would be dramatic but i guess they are all wearing ponchos because i forgot we got some for free ] I'm not going to betray that trust, but I think keeping in mind that things in this game might not be played fair is important. We've all faced our own injustices in these, haven't we?
[Akira understands how important it is for people to be able to share things in confidence, so. . . he doesn't press. he does have to take a deep breath to force himself to relax, though. things keep being so!! super!! shitty!!]
Yeah. We have.
The games themselves are one big injustice. And we've already seen that whoever owns the pink voice-- [the voice is now pink] -- isn't willing to play fair.
[Evan. Tsurumaru. Winter. ALL OF THAT WAS JUST FULL OF SO MUCH BULLSHIT!!]

[Evan. Tsurumaru. Winter. ALL OF THAT WAS JUST FULL OF SO MUCH BULLSHIT!!]
That's most likely a certainty, at this point. [ he frowns a bit as he thinks ] Asking about who that voice was is an impasse-- I don't know if it's that they couldn't say or wouldn't, but either way, they were eager to move on from answering that question. I can't say I believed their answer that they had no idea where it came from, though.
It's definitely a certainty. We didn't even learn about the people with "special privileges" back at the mansion until the fifth week or so.
[Akechi Goro too good at keeping secrets :/]
And I'm in the same boat as Dick. I even asked if I could speak to the owner of the voice, and just got told that it wasn't possible-- likely because it's just a "residual," or whatever-- or at the very least a very bad idea.

[ ah. dick should probably mention: ]
I've heard from others that speaking with the departed was a thing, in the other games. We... didn't have that. That was dedicated to a role back on the ship. They could summon one person per week to talk to them one on one.

[oh]
[oh BOY]
. . .
What if that explains why the counselors can't reach Evan or Tsuru themselves?
