Most of our weight's in the tsuba and hilt. Blades have to be pretty thin to cut through things efficiently, yeah? Mm - except some European swords, I guess, but they're made more for hacking than slicing. Oodachi are pretty heavy, too... But most people used tachi or uchigatana since most of the super popular styles rely on speed and cutting, not brute force.
