voicemail.
[Following the "record your voicemail at the beep" message--]
What? Who gave you the right to order me around? -- W-Wait, was that the beep?
I wasn't prepared--!! [a whispered hiss:] How do you get this thing to stop-?!
[Beep!
You know the drill! IC Inbox for voice/video/action threads for whatever occasion.]

No.
[ . . . . but. After a little bit she does elaborate on that point at least, glancing back to meet his gaze.]
It's unacceptable for this situation to make [you] carnival goers so uncomfortable. If you have complaints, you should state them - but it's absolutely atrocious that [I can't fix it] there is no available solution.
no subject
Oh. [Oh. ...Well, that sort of statement isn't very surprising, coming from her.]
...Yeah, but I guess that's the kinda thing they love to do. Making people upset or whatever. It's a preeetty gross hobby to have!
no subject
There isn't much that I hate more than people who will go out of their way to make others feel lesser. Flouting around power is disgusting.
[girl please chill]
no subject
Mmmhm. Y'know, I guess you could say I've been fighting that kinda thing for a while, so it really makes me mad to see. [A TAGTEAM OF EQUALISTS.
Though this gets him thinking - always a dangerous thing - and after a pause, he adds:] ...It's pretty weird though, isn't it? They must really not see us as a threat at all, even though I know they aren't totally impossible to beat. They would've tried wiping those gods out, otherwise.
no subject
Speaking from a ruler's point of view [wait who are you] even if they did... it's hard to sustain a livelihood without anyone to preside over. That said, I do find these malicious acts abhorrent and absolutely dangerous -- so perhaps they didn't expect so many people here?
But it'd be disastrous if every person here were removed entirely.
no subject
[...But hold on a second there, let him just briefly derail--]
Hey... What exactly were you back where you came from? I couldn't figure it out.
[Between her violent bouncing between acting like she'd never had fresh water before and being right at home in a spa?!]
no subject
[In her opinion.
And also to fill up time because she realizes now that she never really.... told Kashuu.....
It makes her a little nervous for a second though so she does ask--]
You... You don't seem like the type - but you're not going to treat me differently, are you?
no subject
But.
More importantly... this conversation is taking a weird turn?! What kind of reveal is this. Maybe he should ask more questions when the topics are immediately relevant instead of waiting 500 years??]
Pro-mise! That sort of thing isn't my style. [It's true, at least!] I treat people based on how I like 'em, not where they came from.
no subject
That said, she's just going to... release a breath that's a mix of a relief and amusement.]
That... sounds like you.
[Again, summing him up in a sentence. Oh Lili. But regardless it gives her enough confidence to just flip her hair over the shoulder then, some of her natural regality setting in place as she prepares to introduce herself formally out of habit. Despite herself, she can't help a smile either.]
My name is Lili An - I'm the daughter of General Joon-gi of the Water Tribe. [But that... doesn't provide a lot of context for someone not from her world, right?] We preside over a fifth of the nation's land, particularly the most beautiful gardens and luxurious sights.
no subject
BUT YEP that entire thing sure... sure makes zero sense to him. A general? A tribe? This is sounding like some Ye Olde times here, which isn't surprising considering she'd been confused by the lights of the city initially, but still. And if a general is in charge, are they a warring nation? But then she talks about gardens and sights like that's the primary draw, so he's assuming that probably isn't the case?! HE HAS NO CLUE.
Then again, from what he remembers of those early, early years, pretty much every area had been warring even if they had other specialties. Maybe it's the same... But like a true moron, he doesn't ask any of that. Instead, first and foremost:]
Hey! Your eyes really do match where you come from then, huh? [Ocean eyes, water tribe... Why is he so embarrassing??]
It sounds like it'd be a super impressive place. What kinda gardens? What are the best sights? It's too bad - you probably don't have any pictures or anything, right? I wouldn't mind seeing something like that.
[1/2]
So it manages to wipe the smile clear off Lili's face as she huffs, a blush already rising to her cheeks because she'd forgotten that he'd compared her eyes to the ocean but-]
Sh-Shut up....! Who asked you?
no subject
He did ask a bunch of questions about her lands though and there's very few other things that she loves as much in the world. After all, she'll recklessly throw herself into danger for the sake of her lands and her people.]
Well.... There's a variety. The capitol and the manor had many gardens surrounding the natural bodies of water, so the beauty was abundant. There were stone gardens and ones naturally rooted in the ground as well. Those were many of the best sights - everything about my lands are gorgeous even naturally on their own. It opens out to the sea as well, which is refreshing....
[ . . . . yeah so this is how you get Lili talking, apparently. When she finishes recounting though, she just sighs.]
I wish to see it again too.... I'd show you if I could.
no subject
But that look fades into something softer and more curious as she continues talking. He's attuned to these things, so he can tell how much she loves her homeland just based on that alone. It's nice, he thinks - he loves listening to people talk about what they love.]
It'd be nice if I could see something like that. Maybe once we get back home, you can take a camera with you and send me some photos!
[Will wi-fi stretch across dimensions?? Time to find out.]
no subject
Lili has a phone but she mostly uses it for maps and waking her up in the morning and things like that. She might not have even completely discovered the camera feature yet. It's bad.
So she's unsure if she'll ever make it back home -- but that takes second priority to what she's curious about now.]
Are cameras truly so powerful?
[Can she show people the lands that she's so proud of?]
no subject
But he'll helpfully whip out his own phone - which looks like a dang dessert - and slide the mask up to his elbow so he can start flipping through pictures with his free hand.]
See? You can take pictures of pretty much whatever you want and save 'em or send 'em to other people!
[His photos are slews of animals, cute desserts, and like 1000 selfies...]
no subject
And you send pictures of yourself often....?
[She is so confused.]
This is how you sent me the picture of the bracelet.... I see.
no subject
Yep! Selfies are super in, so everyone who wants to be someone on the fashion scene has to know how to take good ones!
[She should see his phone directly after he tries to take a new one... Then it's 1000 of just one selfie. But he deletes the failed shots so he at least looks glamorous in all of them! Good work, Kashuu.]
But yeah, that's how you do it. Where's yours? I'll show you how to open both cameras.
no subject
[Which is a little concerning to her?! Lili makes sure that she doesn't dress poorly of course but who knew selfies were so important.... Not her.... You do you, Kashuu.
But that's just a mumble even as she pulls out her own Cerevice which remains rather undecorated. Her phone screen is probably the default one. Guess who doesn't really go out of her way to press buttons that she's clueless about.]
There's two cameras in this?
[Such power!!]
no subject
But this phone is so sad?! He leans in automatically, nose wrinkling.]
...I'll show you how to set your wallpapers later, too. Like, when we get out. [At least he still remembers they're on a Mission here.]
But yeah! A front one and a back one. See, you press this button here to turn on the back one-- [Which he'll show! The screen will probably then be filled with an image of Lili's feet or Kashuu's pants or a patch of dirt or her fingers, depending on where they are.]
And you press this little camera icon to take a picture! Easy, right? Give it a try.
no subject
She starts a little bit at that, a little bit amazed at how the phone seems ready to capture whatever it's pointed at. Immediately, she moves to take it and lifts it and looks around for something that she wants to take a picture of.
. . . . . . .
Hm.]
There's really nothing that pleasant to look at around....
[nice.]
no subject
...There! [Snap!
When he turns his phone screen to Lili, there's a rather pretty shot of a string of carnival lights.]
You can always find something to take a picture of.
no subject
That is rather pretty. Can you send that to me?
[is she being lazy]
no subject
I can, sure. You should try taking at least one picture too, though.
no subject
I don't exactly have fond memories of this place, you know.
[What a great hit for her first carnival.]
no subject
But he won't press the matter further, at least. Instead, he'll hold his phone out again toward her.]
Then I'll show you the other camera, okay? You just need to go back to the first screen and press this little flippy button here.
[Which turns it to the front-facing camera, of course. Kashuu's at least holding it at a flattering angle because of course he is.]
