That said, Lili's not the type of person who would stay still when she's trying to impart some sort of change. So here we are now and she's going to go ahead and use the slipperiness of the glob to propel herself forward and outside the goo. She gulps down the fresh air and then--
Immediately sticks her hand back in so that she can try to pull Yukina out.]
[Oh! Now here's something Yukina hadn't expected. She can't hesitate though, not with the goo sealing back up. She takes Lili's hand with her free one and through her pushing through and Lili's pull, she comes out a bit sloppy but much less gooey. The goo ball itself wiggles before it seals back up with the two of them standing outside.
Yukina takes in a few quick breaths, then she looks over at Lili with a wondering, curious gaze.]
[Sorry Yukina, Lili's just glad that you managed to get out of there...! She's immediately pulling her hand away at the soonest moment, just out of habit -- but then she's blinking at the other's gaze. Then her eyes narrow and brows furrow as she can't help but be a little... offended?!]
-- Of course I did! Why wouldn't I? What kind of person do you take me for?
[Yukina starts a little, then looks momentarily confused. At first her instinct is a blunt You're human. In her mind it makes thorough sense for a human to leave behind a demon like her. Then again, the other woman doesn't know that so how could she?
Or perhaps she was simply misjudging humans altogether. She looks ashamed in the next moment, sliding her sword back in it's sheathe.]
[That's the best word for it. She knew the folk tales of items gaining spirits and what not but had never actually seen it. For a moment she's so focused on thinking on the issue that she almost forgets she had something to dodge here.
In the end though... well, if there are swords and other demons and the like, should she really hide away? There's nothing to say simply revealing herself here in a land full of many things other than humans means that she has to become deeply involved with said humans.]
At first the word scares her - but swords should technically scare her too, right? That said, she can't keep all the judgment out of her tone as she incredulously repeats:]
A-A demon...?!
[Okay. Wait. Even as her eyes narrow a fraction, she... tries to keep the rest of her tone neutral.]
[She doesn't seem hurt by the reaction at least. It's only reasonable and perhaps reminds her why her kind rarely reveal themselves like this. She was most likely worried for her safety and so with a serious expression Yukina goes about settling her fears - so she hopes.]
We don't fight humans if it can be helped. We don't do many of the things tales say we do.
[She knows well about the images of demons on scrolls and the tales of their deaths in pieces like Momotaro.]
Our ancestors may have fought with humans and worse but no demon would do such things now.
[It's said with firm conviction. She believes in her demon brethren like the possible sweet summer child she is.]
[ . . . well. At least that's a rather solid explanation. Demons are supposed to be fearsome creatures that are heartless, right? Yet this girl doesn't seem like that. Rather, she's only helped Lili and.... this sort of thing doesn't seem like an act.
She'd have no reason to even pretend to help her.
So slowly, there's a nod.]
I... see. Very well then, as long as you're not some monster.
[Though the words are out of her mouth before she considers the insulting nature of them. Lili's good at not seeming to realize when she's hurt someone.]
Didn't I just say it's fine? You're not cruel.... so I don't have a reason to be afraid of you or avoid you. I'm taking you on your merits, understand?
[Ah. Is she being an idiot? Did she not follow some human convention here? For a moment she falters, blinks and then slowly nods in understanding. If she's an idiot then at least the other woman is taking her on her actions rather than on what she is.]
Alright.
[...]
I'm Yukina.
[Now that they're not rolling in slime, it seems a good time to introduce herself.]
That's better. Lili nods in response to that, now working on taking an inventory of her own person to remove all the slime from her robes and her hair... which admittedly there's a lot of, wow gross.
A huff.]
Lili.
[This is where someone would normally say "nice to meet you" but....]

That said, Lili's not the type of person who would stay still when she's trying to impart some sort of change. So here we are now and she's going to go ahead and use the slipperiness of the glob to propel herself forward and outside the goo. She gulps down the fresh air and then--

H-Here...!

Or perhaps she was simply misjudging humans altogether. She looks ashamed in the next moment, sliding her sword back in it's sheathe.]
... Forgive me.
no subject
That's not what she expected. It manages to stop the tsun all together.... She straightens then, vaguely confused.]
You are forgiven.
.... Do you get left behind often?
[Lili, that's not something you just ask people--]
no subject
No, it's-- [How did she explain this without mentioning what she is. She doesn't wish to outright lie.]
I'm beginning to believe I've had some mistaken ideas when it comes to humans.
[That's more or less blatantly true, save without detail. She glances back to the goo and sighs a little.]
That's over, at least. If it's back here it can't really hurt others.
no subject
It's a little hard to distract her, especially when Yukina says "human" as if she doesn't include herself in the group.]
What are you then?
-- ah, are you a sword as well?
[Even though she hasn't met any female swords so far.... but they probably exist, right?]
no subject
There's someone who is a sword?
[... She really likes weaponry, alright?]
no subject
Many someones. They are... spirits of a sort? But they hardly act like it - or their age! Really, a lot of them are so rude and rambunctious.....
[Tell us how you really feel, Lili.]
But they're not all bad. You're not one of them, though....?
no subject
[That's the best word for it. She knew the folk tales of items gaining spirits and what not but had never actually seen it. For a moment she's so focused on thinking on the issue that she almost forgets she had something to dodge here.

I'm not. I'm a demon.

What does that... entail? What does that mean?
no subject

Instead she nods, brushes a little goo from her arms and finally replies with a slight smile.]
Then try not to be afraid of me. If it's too much you don't need to speak with me after this.
no subject
[Though the words are out of her mouth before she considers the insulting nature of them. Lili's good at not seeming to realize when she's hurt someone.]

Lili.
[This is where someone would normally say "nice to meet you" but....]
... We could've met under better circumstances.
no subject
[Yeah, no shame in admitting that. It's not so much goo now as slime left on them and honestly she would like to find some place to clean up.]
We should probably find somewhere to clean up.
no subject
Very well. And then.... perhaps we can salvage your first festival experience if there's anything decent here....
no subject
What usually happens at a festival?
no subject
But this is all wrong! Completely wrong! Partaking in a carnival shouldn't be forced and furthermore, no one should ever be put in danger...!
[HUFF.
She's offended.]
no subject
[Then again, nothing should be forced in her mind. Except maybe manners but even that isn't something you can make people engage in, right?
She sighs out a little.]
It's a shame they would ruin it like this then.
[... Then again, it's not completely ruined, is it? It's not an ideal situation but Yukina offers with a light smile:]
Why don't we try to make the best of it then?
no subject
Very well then.
We will get clean and do exactly that.
no subject
You look very serious about this.
[Pot calling the kettle black, considering Yukina's typical mood.]
