[CATCH UP WITH HER OR SOMETHING, NERD. At least there's probably a couple of broken and abandoned buildings up ahead that even these monsters probably can't ram through.]
It still slowed down! [He refuses to be wrong but he's also picking up his pace to keep up with her even on his slightly injured ankle. Not dying takes priority here.]
Check it out. [He points ahead to two buildings that're connected to each other, supported by each wall and small enough that it'd be the equivalent of a cat trying to get through a mouse hole in the wall.] Head for those buildings!
[Well, you really don't need to tell her twice. There's no hesitation in how she's running, her skirts bunched up in one hand so she doesn't trip over them.
You're totally not giving me enough credit here! [In fact there's a burst of speed suddenly as he keeps up with her and he grabs her wrist to pull her hard straight into that space, scrunching them far enough back and out of the monsters' reach. He doesn't quite let go, but he does give her a once-over.]
...this probably could have been planned better, but we shouldn't have to wait too long. [He hopes.]
[Even if Hiro doesn't let go, Lili more or less wrenches her hand away as soon as possible. Don't touch her - except he was doing so in order to try to keep her safe. Even she can recognize that even if she doesn't like it.....
Still, once they're away from the monster's reach she sighs.
She sighs heavily and leans against the wall and shakes her head.]
Something tells me that very few things go according to plan in this place....
You wouldn't be wrong. [He sighs as well, running a hand through his hair as he pauses to think.] Tadashi's told me a couple of horror stories from before I even got here. It's like things are just getting worse.
[Though that phrase is telling.] You came in with one of the most recent batches of people, didn't you?
Hiro Hamada. [He doesn't think it's a strange question anymore, assuming it's only because she's new and not because Tadashi's already spoken to her.] And you are...?
Lili. I can do that. [He's about to ask her another question when she apparently has something else to say. He stops, mouth half-open, in fact, as he gives her a scrutinizing look in return.]
You've met Tadashi already? I was actually looking for him out here. Have you seen him?
More than likely. We were in our apartment before we wound up here so he can't be too far away. [He's not sure how to read Lili's look and he has to wonder just how close she happens to be to Tadashi.]
...wanna help me look? It'd be easier to spot him with someone who actually knows him.
[And... there's more that she wants to say. She wants to say "I want to help you help Tadashi" but that's a little out of the blue, isn't it? Even for someone as blunt as her...]

[Super proud baby brother. But Lili just listens, curious because... she's actually never really encountered the doting siblings things before. Families are so interesting to observe when she recognizes them for what they are.

[He won't ever admit it to Tadashi's face, but it's too hard to hide that he admires him very much. Still, it's for that reason he's a little hesitant to say anything but when Lili speaks he nods slowly.]
Probably because he is. [The tone's a little dry.] He...wants to help everyone in any way he can. That's kind of how he's always been. It's probably the same reason he wanted to figure out stuff with ViViD anyway. You got all of that just from talking to him?
[But that was.... kind of unrelated?! Whoops. Lili's just going to hesitate for a moment, trying to figure out her words for this next bit.]
... I'd only spoken to him once, but he already told me a lot about himself. [Which makes her shift uncomfortably? Listen, she's not used to this whole "sharing" thing.] He mentioned you as well.
[He just. Kind of stares. Wow, such bold much brash Lili, but at the same time Hiro figures Tadashi could use more friends.]
Tadashi doesn't mind telling people things about himself. He's always been kind of good with making friends that way. [He can't help but raise an eyebrow.] What'd he have to say about me though?
[ . . . . WELL, is it really making friends if you're telling people that you're dead? It's enough to make Lili a little bit uncomfortable, her shoulders stiffening.]
Well... He said that you're doing everything that you can to help him-
[And. She really can't dance around it anymore, right? So the words spill out.]
He's... He's really too giving about information with himself. I hadn't even spoken to him before and he- he told me that back in your world, he's....
[It's the last stretch. The final word. Dead, is on the tip of her tongue.
But she can't.
It's still too real of a truth and it's something that's hard to talk about to the brother of the person in question and instead she just looks away, her expression pained.
[It is when you're a Disney, probably. But she doesn't have to say it outright for him to understand because when she stops on her words he picks up on what she isn't saying immediately. His entire expression shifts to something a little more closed off and defeated as he gives Lili a look that says he's not even sure how to really react.]
Yeah. He is. [Best to get that out there.] He's getting better at telling people, but it's still not something most people expect. He told you when you first met him? [That's the surprising part.]
