[ I'm just sitting here imagining Minato bleeding out of every orifice for two whole days while visiting everybody else and nobody caring until Lili had the sense to get him help. In those fifteen seconds, Minato was ineffectively tugging at Lili's sleeve mumbling something about "rock boats" but she's presumably not letting him go. ]
It was a series of accidents... [ one after another, all within 24 hours ]
[ An ear isn't as vital as an eye or a hand???? He still has another ear left and Google says that as long as his inner ear isn't damaged, he can still sort of hear out of that one. It's really not as bad as Lili's making it out to be, he wants to believe. ]
Hm... Broke my arm catching Cinnabar's leg. Except I dropped it and also broke the leg. [ It's a pretty bad break, not all the way through but definitely enough that the splintered bone could be felt through the skin if she examines his rudimentary splinting job. AKA he tied a tree branch to his arm. ]
I was out with Hisoka when the ear happened... Should be a clean cut with a knife. [ Except that knife also stabbed some other guys, so who knows how clean it is. There's a folded cloth over it, held in place by his cat ear headband that he's still wearing, but it's definitely not enough pressure as it should be. ]
Was with him when I burned my hand, too. [ He doesn't provide any extra details about this one, because how does he explain bowling with lava? The skin on his hand is raw and peeling, red and black in some areas but it's painful— and pain is a good thing, because it means he hadn't burned his hand deep enough to kill the nerves, just skin and flesh. This should be covered at all times, but it's not currently. ]
And then got shot in the foot. [ It's wrapped in more cloth, but that's all he's done to it, wrapping it and leaving it out of his shoe and sort of hobbling around on his heel instead of the foot proper. The bullet might still be inside? He doesn't actually know. ]
[lili can't say anything she also had the bird look over her wound
but she's going to go ahead and come back, balancing everything. a bowl of warm water, some towels over it, some clean fabric to use as bandages, and some soap on top of that
[ He wants to believe that this was common sense knowledge, but it was probably something he heard in the second grade that somehow stuck to him instead of "please immediately wash your wounds with soap and water instead of waiting three days" ]
Every open wound needs to get washed again and rebandaged, since he apparently didn't use any soap. His arm should have been iced from the start, too. It's good he had something over his ear, but it should have been tighter. Since the burn on his hand hasn't been covered, we should get him some kind of plant that has antibiotic properties just in case. Echinacea would probably be best, and I can help find that if you don't know what it looks like.
Minato lets Lili memorize whatever needs to be done, moving past what he didn't do and focusing on what he can do now, which is sitting down so he can unwrap the bandages of his right foot so Emma can see the mess of clotted blood and shredded flesh and basically what it looks like on Google images, I made the mistake of looking and then closed my eyes and closed the tab but I clicked the wrong button and accidentally closed my entire browser instead. ]
but she'll go ahead and get all of their materials and lay them out, putting one cloth down first so the rest of the stuff can stay clean. then she'll gather her mass of hair into a bun so it stays out of the way, rolling up her sleeves as she goes.]
I can wash and rebandage his injuries - can you go look for the plant you need? Should I be icing his arm now - because I can also make ice.
[lili used to be so useless at game start and literally now everyone is so
[She wants to vomit, so that's cool. As she looks over his foot, though:]
Lili, do you know if there are sewing supplies in the boutique? I doubt I'm going to find a pair of tweezers anywhere, so a needle might be the closest I'm going to get. [...] Because the bullet is definitely still in his foot. Which is bad.
[She's. So tired.]
Yes, do all of that while I get that and the plants. Make sure the ice doesn't get any of his bandages wet.
[ Is it that bad... He was thinking it's like how you don't want to remove a knife from your gut after you get stabbed, maybe a bullet is the same thing. Unfortunately, he spent his time in the library reading books about Morse Code, not medicine. ]
[She's going to grab everything from the boutique and library and probably beat her head against a wall while screaming internally on the way, see you in the next tag round!!]
Is there a difference between "really hot" and "really really hot"?
[ Even if it's fire, there's no luke-warm fire. Like there's no difference between being really beat up and just a little bit or two inches from death. ]
...It's not like I want to be beat up. But it's already happened, so there's no use in complaining about it. It's sort of like that?
[As she comes back in with a few needles and a few medical textbooks from the library, as well about a foot of fabric which she's starting to fold over several times:]
I brought more than one needle so we can test out the lava on the first one.
[ Is there anything about himself that he particularly cares about? The answer is a resounding no, the silence being Minato's answer as he lets it settle until Emma returns. At least Emma is willing to entertain Minato's stupid ideas like lava sterilization instead of dismissing it entirely, so that much he's grateful for.
Right on the ground, then, he holds his hand out to his side and lets it drip lava. ]
...At certain temperatures, things won't melt anymore. If it looks too hot, just let it cool a bit until sticking the needle in.

His hand is burned - something happened to his foot. Obviously, there's the thing with his ear but I don't know how much we can help that.
[that's dana's excuse for forgetting that minato's ear was just fucking gone]
Can you check to make sure he's not infected? I'll run and get water to clean his wounds. Tell me if I should be getting anything else.
no subject
[She glances his way.]
What kind of accidents? What happened? Here, just... come in, sit down.
[With a sigh, she moves back so they can enter.]
no subject
[ First he'll come inside and sit down, then he'll start pointing things out, gesturing with his burned hand.
Foot: ] Not me.
[ Broken arm: ] Me.
[ Missing ear: ] Me.
[ Burned hand: ] Also me.

[she's just
mumbling this as she starts to head in the opposite direction]
I'll be back - I'm going to get what Emma asked fo- ow.
[she bumps against the doorframe on the way out because
eye
but there she goes]
no subject
You're going to have to give me more details than that.
[Gingerly, she moves her remaining hand towards his face, but it's only so she can tilt it and get a better look at his lack of ear.]
...Christ.

don't tell her that hisoka was involved in any of this so i don't have to thread with the clown]

She takes stock of all his injuries, and while she definitely Isn't A Doctor, she takes note of a few things immediately. Her frown deepens, and:]
How long have you had all of these, and how were they treated when you first got them?
no subject
[ The last bit is important, he thinks. Surely Emma and Lili trust the bird over his own medical skills, and will be convinced he is fine. ]
no subject
but she's going to go ahead and come back, balancing everything. a bowl of warm water, some towels over it, some clean fabric to use as bandages, and some soap on top of that

Do we need anything else?
How stupid is he?
no subject
[She looks over to Lili, sighing.]
...Incredibly. We might want to take him to the hot springs, it’s going to make a mess if I try to clean this all in here.
no subject
Thermophilic bacteria live in the hot springs.
[ THAT'S NOT STERILE WATER ]

no subject
There are medical texts in the library now, aren’t there? We should grab a few on the way.
no subject
How about the ocean? The sharks won't mind blood.
no subject
There's sand in the ocean and also that was stupid.
[can they move now before lili gets tired of carrying all this]
no subject
Let’s just go.
[And she’s walking out the door, expecting the others to follow.]
no subject
Minato doesn't look like he wants to follow but he will trail after Lili because he's sure if he doesn't she will break his other arm. ]
no subject
but guess they're going to the hot springs then, and lili will gently put the collected items down since her arms are tired but like
at least she has working hands unlike other people present?]
What next?

... yes, there's sewing supplies in the boutique. I don't know if you're going to get tweezers but... I can take care of the rest until then.
[even if she's
unfathomably unsure how minato is still alive]
Your element is lava, not fire, right...? [won't the lava just? melt? whatever she offers?]
no subject
[Bye!]

[right???? she's trying so hard to understand how it works.
