Not that I can say that I'm surprised... Most nobles are rather stupid. Even in Kouka, it's only recently that our leadership actually became something halfway respectable.
Ah, not exactly the ruling class! [Apparently there is still an emperor somewhere just chilling out while wizards wage wars on each other.] They're, ah... hm. Well, there's the cultivation world, and the non-cultivation world? But most of the big sects also have a lot of money, power and political sway within that world.

And not taking the straightforward way can compromise time if you're not smart about it... ruling isn't easy, but those with the power to help should still be mindful about how they conduct themselves.

They do have so many eyes on them, after all, and so many smaller domains and sects to protect. Any time something higher up moves, it affects everyone lower down - can't do anything that would cause those at the bottom unnecessary strife, mm. If a little bloodshed in the here and now would prevent prolonged suffering in the future, that's the way it is, yes?
It seems like in those - modern eras they talk so much... it's less likely for people to use murder in order to solve their problems. It sounds nice, doesn't it? For normal people to not have to live in fear.

It'd be nice if everyone could just live their lives without having to worry about war or this and that getting overthrown in a bloody mess of a coup. [...] Well, we'd still have to worry about the malevolent spirits and fierce corpses in my world, but one less danger would be a big help!
