[There's obviously no reason for any of this, but he's also not made uncomfortable or helpless by her anger. He's been angry for a very, very long time now. It feels natural, easy, to be around it.
[the question manages to delay her from an even angrier yell - and she glances to the knife in the wood. she huffs out an annoyed sound before turning back to him]
Not for keeps! Just - destroy some things for a while. You got all that anger, but at least another twenty four hours before there's anything to do with it.
[she will definitely reach out to grasp it with two hands - and it's a bit weird, given that all of her closest companions either didn't wield weapons or they were their weapons so she was never actually given permission to hold onto them

Is there a proper form?
[or is she allowed to just hack at things - but congratulations magnus you have successfully distracted her from imminent depression]
[ . . . well. she holds onto the axe tight and - the thing is that lili is pretty naturally destructive. she moves to the trees, takes a deep breath, and swings. there's the briefest pause after the first hack, and then she proceeds. there's no finesse to it, no concentrated chop to try to actually fell the tree, just her aggression.
and it'll take her a few minutes to actually get tired enough to catch her breath, shoulders heaving with breath.]
... that's not bad.
[maybe she'll just start doing this after diedays]

I get that. At a certain point, it's - some people shouldn't get to just walk away.
[His voice goes a little rougher at that. He genuinely does understand that feeling.]

They shouldn't.
[and she sound so sure of that, so absolutely unwaveringly certain - but there's no denying the rising emotion in her voice.]
And that guy... he wouldn't have tried to hurt anyone... So - how can this happen to him again...! He never even gets a chance to try to help anyone!

He was a nice kid. But there's never anything fair about any of this shit.

That you?

Yes.
I'm not giving it back.

[It's not that big of a deal to him. He's fond of his axe, but it's not like he thinks he won't get it back or she'll manage to destroy it.
Handing it to her! It's big, and heavy, but it's a one-handed weapon for him, so she should be fine if she uses both hands.]
Just be careful - don't hit anything harder than wood or break someone's skull. Or break your own skull.

[He's not exactly formally trained in any weapons. Just chop.]
Just hold on to the handle and try to swing it.

That last one was great! You're a natural at two-handed.
