[IT'S A NEW DAY - and lili is just in the kitchen. she's running her fingers through her hair to try to get any tangles out because she hasn't found a hairbrush. this is why i brought it up in the server, she's literally going to struggle with her hair.
but it's just an idle motion as she looks as the empty fucking knifeblock]
Of course...
[and there will be no comment about the shallow cut on her cheek, nope]
[ as ever, yin yu is an early riser. it's nearly impossible to find anywhere on this odd bus that's remotely quiet for more than a few minutes to meditate, so beyond a restless sleep, he's heading to the pantry to fetch himself something to eat. his own hair's a bit of a mess too, but it's tucked into a low bun with the scrunchie so it's out of the way, because he's nothing if not utilitarian.
there's a familiar face in here this morning. ] Lady Lili. [ yin yu greets, as to make his presence known so he doesn't accidentally sneak up on her. he's probably a little closer than you would expect, but thats what happens when you're quiet as a mouse and also roughly as noticeable as one.
his bow is in greeting, not so deep, but polite. ] Good morning. What are you doing...?
[ yin yu's camp experience began with making a beeline for the cabin. upon receiving his clothes back and strapping the earth master's shovel at his back--and most importantly, putting his mask back on-- yin yu proceeds to do a top to bottom investigation of just about anything in the camp that he can. he's nothing if not thorough.
third on the list is checking up with the important people. lili, hope you're not prone to being startled easily, because yin yu's presence won't be even remotely noticeable until he's there, suddenly, close enough to speak but not close enough to be threatening, announcing himself with a polite - ] Lady Lili. [ and a bow. ]
[it's only because of his voice that she doesn't immediately start and act more aggressively. there's a slight jump just because she's not expecting company at all, but it disappears near immediately.]
Just Lili.
[they're gonna do this every time]
As well as I can. I was hoping to run into you - but can you take the mask off?
[normally, when lili approaches yin yu, it's effortless confidence and certainty. bold declarations and unflinching assuredness that what she's doing is right. today -
today, she looks for him and rather than the careless way in which she normally says everything, she refuses to look at him. today, it's a simple report, almost cold]
Flayn and Dimitri are safe. I have nothing else for you.
[because she failed the other thing she set out to do]
[ hearing the name over the speaker sounded like a funeral rite.
the sense of loss that came from hearing the inevitable wasn't softened any. the sense of knowing the person who had died -- they shared a cabin together -- made it worse. remembering lili's frantic yelling and knocking the night before was the real twist of the knife, though, because it was the deep realization of a failure. despite the precautions of a curfew, despite even meeting before they were all forced to sleep, the worst for lili was realized.
he sees her first smashing into the director's doors, but, instead of reporting, goes out to start looking. in the end, the loss and chaos of another nightmarish game they'll be forced to play can be smashed down under crisis mode. yin yu does what he does best--he acts the part of the retainer, scouts the camp, and searches for anything and everything he can find.
he doesn't find much, but it's something. when lili finds him, he's searching for her too, mask on his face, and he greets with his hand to his fist in a bow. ] ....Lili.
[ it's the first time he's properly spoken her name. a shame it's in this situation. the way she looks away tugs at his heartstrings: at least he has some news to report. it's easier to fall into business, the role of a ruler and her retainer, even if it wasn't on purpose. ] I found something. It's not much, but: there were blood droplets on the ground leading to the showers.
[ it's a little while after things have shaken out, when yin yu reports to lili again. he's not one to be intrusive, and it's only when the dust has finally settled, and the night is quiet, that he more or less appears at her side.
as has become routine, he'll push his mask back up to the side of his head now that no one else is around, and greet her properly, the motions of a job he's known. ] Lady... [ ...mn. ] Lili.
[ there's no reason other than to confer, and to check on her well being.
[WHAT'S UP YIN YU - unfortunately lili is an idiot! so she's actually going to be more obviously limping today. it's probably fine. but also she's going to be followed around by gently hovering bees. that's cool.
[ you know, normally yin yu is the type to stand upon the arrival of his lord or lady, but he's not moving so much, today. his eyes track from the bees, to lili's face, as he lifts his hand for his greeting bow, still sitting. ]
I trust you, Lady Lili. [ he says, a bit slowly, looking down at her leg before back to her face. he trusts her with most things except like, taking care of herself, but three weeks and that's par for the course. ] ...What is it?
yin yu doesn't particularly like ogata at all, but that doesn't mean he deserves to be wrongfully accused. no one does. after everything that happened today, mess after mess after great, final mess, yin yu will come to find lili later in the evening, when they have a moment alone.
he tips his head downward, hand to fist, a bow of greeting. ]...Lady Lili. Do you have a moment?
[well, the village is very familiar to her! lili is going to be walking around, though it's a fortunate thing that she doesn't seem to be limping anymore. but she'll peer into one of the gateways and then
[ this village is a bit more familiar than the mansion. it's actually quite nice to wander around, if you ignore the fact that a whole lot of murder happened here! while yin yu is getting his bearings, he hears lili call out to him, turns, and gives a proper little bow of greeting, then trots over. ]
most people aren't right now, that's a given - but even she's a bit sick to her stomach after... all of that. even still, she noticed how hard yin yu seemed to be taking it and so - she proceeds. she drinks water, she ignores the paleness in her own complexion, and she moves on.
she checks for him all over camp, and she doesn't stop.
she makes her way to the garden and eventually manages - ]
[ when lili finally is able to track yin yu down, she'll find him sitting quietly in the garden. it's not the first time he's been here, in the past couple days, but this time, she's caught him meditating, eyes closed, legs crossed, seated closest to a patch of purple flowers.
when he hears lili's voice, it pulls him out of wherever he was in his meditation, and yin yu lets his shoulders droop as he exhales. he's masked, today, and normally he'd reach up to pull it off immediately, but. not today.
he gives a small bow of his head, and unfolds from his position, standing to greet her properly, fist to hand with his bow. as always, yin yu is professional. ] Lady Lili. How can I be of service?
[REPORT TIME - lili is just going to be minding her own business, hanging out under a gazebo in the gardens to try to get away from the rain when she calls out, simply:]
[ just minding your own business, yeah! lili may notice yin yu is masked again today, though it's not because he's trying to be rude... rather, it's because he's trying to figure out what in the world is causing these random escapes of -- awful, random memories, and "sight" seems to be a good as guess as any. he is not keen on letting out any more of his secrets today!! (which will happen before this is over but you know).
when lili calls for him, he appears as ever, a bit further than normal, eyes cast to the ground, and gives his usual polite bow. ] Lady Lili.
[ well! after the chaos that was this morning, things have finally (?) maybe started to settle down, so. yin yu gets a moment later in the afternoon to check in.
where are you hanging out, lili! yin yu approaches with his usual - he pushes his mask up to the side of his head, puts his fist to his hand, and greets her with a crisp bow. ] Lady Lili, good afternoon. I wanted to report in.
it's especially nice to be alive and not inside of a costco. the fresh air after that utter chaos is unbelievably nice, and as things are starting to settle down, yin yu seeks out one of the people he wanted to grab a moment with since the initial reunion. he seems calm, even after that...bizarre evening, mask already pushed up to the side of his head, and when he finds lili, he greets her with his usual bow. ]
[he is trying - and she looks pleased about it. she's both tired and energized. exhausted after their day, but she's healed of all injuries! she can run around as she pleases without having to ignore aches or cuts anymore!
MAJOR UPGRADE FROM HOW SHE WAS FEELING BEFORE]
In fact, I do, Yin Yu.
[proceed with whatever you want to talk to her about!]
